HOW EMBRYO DEVELOPMENT EFFECTS FRUIT DEVELOPMENT:
Embryo development has a large effect on fruit development. One way the embryo can influence fruit development is by the production of hormones of which auxins and cytokinins are important.
In terms of fruit quality, the embryo developing within the fruit usually plays no role. Rather, fruit quality depends on the parents. Characteristics of a fruit's quality are conditioned by the parents. However, in the process of metaxenia, the pollen source does affect fruit development. In almonds for example, the pollenizer affects the quality of the nut being produced. This holds true for sweet corn and persimmon as well
